Celeste
Noel Berry and Matt Thorson created a prototype of Celeste in four days during a game jam. The result was a difficult platformer with 30 levels designed for speedrunning and precision reflexes. Berry and Thorson developed the game into a standalone release with over 200 rooms.

Nominees: This Game was nominated for game of the year, amongst titans of the gaming industry and is the second indie game (With inside by playdead) to be nominated for goty (in the Game awards) in the four years the award has been running. Celeste was also nominated for Best score/music
